    Salary: £28,000 starting salary, private medical cover, pension, 25 days paid annual leave/year, salary reviewed every 6 months.

    What will I be doing?

    The graduate development scheme in Costain lasts for two years. During this time, the development is intended to provide a thorough grounding in the graduate’s discipline, develop personal skills and foster an understanding of the business. Costain have project-based roles all over the UK, you might be placed in London, Maidenhead, Yatton, Birmingham or Manchester. Our technology solutions are delivered across Costain’s sectors of Highways, Power, Nuclear, Rail, Water, Oil and Gas.  The range of solutions may be delivered through software development, robotics and automation, BIM, GIS, UAVs, mobile apps, Big Data, AI, Blockchain, Cyber Security, Telecomms and IoT.  We require graduates who can assist in full project lifecycle activities such as Requirements Capture, Design, Development, Deployment and Maintenance Support Services.   


    Due to the diversity of our solutions, we are seeking graduates from multiple technology engineering related disciplines.  We are seeking enthusiastic individuals with a “can do” attitude, willing to adapt to new challenges and environments.

    About you

    • Degree in a software, computer science, technology or engineering degree
    • Hands on experience gained during industrial placements / degree projects.
    • For software engineering roles: exposure to at least one of the following: Java, C++, Python, PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript,
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office elements including Word, Excel, Outlook.
    • Exposure to SQL or noSQL database
    • Knowledge of Windows or Linux development
    • Basic understanding of cyber security
    • Knowledge of object-oriented design principles.

    Assessment centres will take place after the closing date in Maidenhead, SL6 4UB.
