    Costain plays a significant role in safely delivering the energy infrastructure that will satisfy the UK’s future needs. We bring an asset lifecycle perspective to energy infrastructure projects (ideal for a RIIO environment - a performance-based model introduced by Ofgem to set price controls to ensure consumers pay a fair price for this investment) supported by seamless transitions between project phases, and shortened lead times and outages.

    Reporting to the UK Director Energy, the Business Development/Commercial Manager  will be responsible for both managing existing leads and accounts and developing new leads and opportunities through business development:

    What will I be doing?


    Develop and manage the Electrical Transmission and Distribution bid pipeline to achieve divisional targets

    Work with clients to develop technical solutions to meet their requirements

    Directly working with senior management to undertake Strategic development and planning of the electricity sector proposition
    Identifying market trends and project opportunities

    Continuous improvement management
    Working with regulators, network operators and other stakeholders

    Supply chain development

    About you

    The ideal candidate will have proven business development experience within the power generation, distributed generation markets with a minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar role.

    Ideally conversant in the following technical  areas:


    Transmission and Distribution networks 11kV – 400kV (substations, connections, cable and overhead lines)


    Offshore Wind Connection


    Energy Storage
