    Location: Nationwide, graduates must be flexible

    Salary: £28,000 starting salary, private medical cover, matched pension contribution, 25 days paid annual leave, salary reviewed every 6 months based on performance.


    The Costain Graduate Development Scheme is an intensive 2-year programme designed to equip high flying graduates with the skills and experience required to take them forward in their career with the company. We will further support you in the 3rd year of your studies to gain your professional qualification. Our programme includes regular “boot” camps and training days to provide you with certain non technical skills and also enables graduates to rotate a number of times during the scheme across a number of areas of the business.

     

    We offer a mentor to each graduate to support your development as well as a structured training programme to support graduates working towards achieving a professional accounting qualification over 3 years. Graduates can work on a number of projects around the UK during the programme in our key areas of transportation, energy and water as well as in the corporate headquarters.

    What will I be doing?

    As a finance graduate you will develop your technical, leadership and management skills through working in a number of different areas:

    • Project accounting on a project site
    • Divisional level management accounting and reporting
    • Internal audit
    • Corporate reporting taxation and accounting
    • Budgeting and business planning
    • Treasury function

     

    Your experience will support your progress in professional exams, and you should aim to be a qualified accountant by the end of the programme.

    About you

    • Minimum 2:2 achieved or expected in a numerate degree ideally with some credits towards professional quals.
    • Work experience relevant to finance or accounting preferable
    • Mobility to work on various projects over the 2 year programme throughout the UK

    Please note, assessment centres will take place in our Head Office based in Maidenhead, SL6 4UB.
