    We will aim to place you as close as possible to your desired home location but you may be expected to be flexible during the course of your apprenticeship.

    What will I be doing?

    As an Electrical/Electronic Degree Apprentice you will be responsible for a key element of work on a project; taking a significant role in technical delivery as well as managing aspects of time, cost and quality whilst acquiring technical, leadership and project management skills and experience. Electrical/Electronic Engineering Undergraduates will work towards a career as either an Electrical or Control and Instrumentation Engineer.

    • Development of electrical and instrument equipment data sheets, detailed equipment specifications and purchase requisitions in accordance with project requirements.
    • Development of detailed designs and management of electrical design interfaces in line with project needs, Costain SHE procedures, specifications and UK and International regulatory requirements.
    • Technical analysis of vendor and subcontract documentation packages to ensure compliance with specification and regulatory requirements.
    • Preparation of Factory and Site equipment/package Acceptance Tests (FAT and SAT).
    • Develop and implement the project plan to ensure project deliverables are produced in line with it.
    • Work with other Senior Engineers to develop the detailed design for electrical distribution systems, power systems, programmable control systems and programmable safety instrumented systems.

    About you

    You will need to:

    • Have three A Levels (or equivalent) in STEM subjects at grade B or above
    • Be organised and able to work well to deadlines
    • Have the ability to do many things and be able to choose what is the most important
    • Be interested in getting it right the first time
    • Be interested in the latest technology
    • Be able to work well within a team and equally on your own
    • Have excellent communication skills

     

    We will track your progress and performance for 3 years and during your apprenticeship you will get:
